Gene: [19^/HKR1] chromatin-associated HKR-phosphoprotein 1; zinc finger oncoprotein HKR1;

COM

[1] Some notes about the name 'GLI-Kruppel': HGN10 named these loci according to homology between the respective proteins, GLI oncogene (which cDNA served as a probe for identification of the whole group; Ruppert-1988), and the drosophila zinc finger protein. The latter also contains repeating zinc-binding finger domains and seems to be altered in embrional mutants Kr (Kruppel; with undevelopped thoracal and first abdominal segments). GEM adopted the gene names that directly indicate functional particularities of their polypeptide products, such as the fact that all of them are DNA-binding flavoproteins.
[2] The component HKR4 was registered by HGM10 (see Tsui-1989) as GLI4 gene, that does not agree with the statement (Ruppert-1988) on the difference between GLI and HKR groups."

FAG

[1] The family GLI-Kruppel comprises seven mapped genes: four HKR components (GEM:01p363/HKR3, GEM:08q243/HKR4, GEM:19^/HKR1, GEM:19^/HKR2) and three GLI components (GEM:02q14/GLI2, GEM:07p13/GLI3, GEM:12q13/GLI1).
[2] For more details on other components of the zinc finger family, see FAM:HKR/00.0 and FAM:CHRBP/00.0."
